I miss nLite.i got OCD to one point where i was paring it down with something called XPlite, and eventually "compiling" my own version of Windows XP Embedded to make it absolutely barebones.
XPlite and 2000lite Uninstall Windows components.
XPlite and 2000lite are powerful uninstall utilities for Windows creating a modular reduced footprint Windows operating system where YOU are in control to uninstall, repair and customize Windows.www.litepc.com
I would also image it as soon as I got it feeling good, and restore the image every couple days.
I think i had the whole os down to 200MB on disk and 11MB of ram use at one point. Still completely usable for gaming, etc.
That sounds familiar. Pretty sure that's what I used to create my PXE boot image when I made my own OS deployment system. Previous to that, we'd used Ghost images which were shit. Shit was automatically built, including dynamic software every time. Saved me so much time, and got me another job too.i got OCD to one point where i was paring it down with something called XPlite, and eventually "compiling" my own version of Windows XP Embedded to make it absolutely barebones.

sure its not heat? Laptop could be overheating and cranking up its fans? What the fuck would cause a laptop to keep changing its W10 power plan from balanced to high performance?
This 6 core, i9 laptop ramps up its fan speed to annoying-coworkers level in high performance mode, and I keep having to switch it back to balanced... then a couple hours later it's back in high performance mode again.
Following some suggestions on stackexchange, I fired up windows log viewer and svchost.exe is what's making the change.
I don't think that would switch the radio button in Windows.sure its not heat? Laptop could be overheating and cranking up its fans?

Maybe some shitty OEM software doing it?
