It's pretty easy yeah.
Better idea though is to set some sono-tube, fill that with concrete, and attach a J-hook and mounting box. That way, when the post rots, you can replace it easily.

Fucking buy from a local lumberyard, you'll get better quality and be supporting local business.4x4’s of any length are “limited stock” right now at Home Depot.
Translation: they’ve all been picked through. Enjoy warped knot filled shit.
Same here. Must have rejected 20+ to find one that was acceptable. FUckers need to go back to work.4x4’s of any length are “limited stock” right now at Home Depot.

Sucks to be you. It’s all chains out here.
My local lumberyard sells the same shitty twisted, knotted 2x4s as home depot. Pressure treated lumber is garbage too. My mom's deck is falling apart. Had to replace the steps after like 6 or 8 years and they cupped and split open. Railings are junk too.Fucking buy from a local lumberyard, you'll get better quality and be supporting local business.

My local lumberyard has been buying up all of the smaller lumberyards too. Fewer options now.

Started shovelling out the pea gravel so I can do new weed barrier, and maybe throw crusher fine down on it.
