If I ever get in a mix again I shall embrace it. I've come to understand how shitty my bass needs to sound for the mix to sound good. I now strive for shitty tones, even in the bedroom.

This thing has a mid shift inside from 900 to 250hz and a 40hz boost/cut. Want.
So the search never ends?? I thought that was a myth.
I thought about that one. They make a smaller one now. Same pedal just smaller. Does it sound anything like a cranked svt? It seem like a lot of companies try to emulate that sound and I'm not a huge fan of it. It's a bit too broken up for my taste.
Svts are more fuzz than distortion sounds when gain cranked
Pork loins distort harmonics only
Smooth fuzzes are more bass friendly but only bassists are listening

No it doesn't sound like an SVT. More like a rack of fancy shit that's set just right so you don't need a rack of fancy shit to get there.
Lows stay clean. Mids/uppers get "drive/overdrive/whatever you want to call it" but finely tweakable in the lower range of "distorted signals". Will not do things labeled fuzz or heavy metal distortion or killer face melting shit or whatever.
Great bump up from clean.
Great always-on for stuff that requires more sometimes.

Yep. The ODs i have play well (enough) with the Ric but the Pbass loses that thump when you step on the pedal.
I'm beginning to suspect it's all non bassists can hear[the bump]
I have an Ibanez Phathead (can make a bass sound like a clanky distorted Ric and or jazz. Its actually really good bi-amped), MXR bass OD (meh very dark. Some like that).
An OCD OD knock off that only seems to sound good in one narrow setting but it sounds really good.
