Tipping is one of the most retarded things about America. Some people just add a tip to their credit card tab and the waitress may never see it. Cash in hand is cash in hand.
Also *opposed.

That's the poor mans way these days. If you aren't taking advantage of credit card points, you are paying too much for your goods.

Fuck credit cards. I'd fuck up too much. Not worth the risk for me.That's the poor mans way these days. If you aren't taking advantage of credit card points, you are paying too much for your goods.
I blame you Americans for being a bunch of stupid retards who allow this to happen. It's about the only industry that isn't subject to minimum wage laws. They're paid like $2.xx per hour. I blame Big Restaurant lobby.

it's so annoyingly ingrained in our culture that one day we'll be arguing about whether or not robot waiters should get tips

You better tip them, or they will use you for batteries. Just sayin'.

I really hope when you guys finally get around to raising the minimum wage to something liveable, that restaurants start doing away with tipping.
I would only tip waiters at a restaurant and pizza delivery guys. Unwillingly I might add.I also dislike tip creep in other industries. I'd rather get my coffee out of a machine than wonder how much extra effort the dude behind the register has to put forth to be worth digging into my pocket for spare change to impart on the fiefdom of einstein's bagels.
