This always bugged me in discussions about 9/11, they'd react as if the blame was being shifted to Americans. But when a detective tries to determine the motive for a murder they're not doing so to shift blame on the victim.

It's got nothing to do with action or inaction, and the only people afraid of being called racist are people that are xenophobic racists. The rest of the population have balanced and sensible views. My Muslim friends are just as appalled as anyone else, because they're decent human beings. Race doesn't come into it; if it did then come meet some white, British Muslim's or the mental cases who led the UK to fight with ISIS in Syria. Hate is what it's about, not race.

Didn't think so. Perpetrators are overwhelmingly statistically white British males. But then I'm quite aware of that because I've worked with tons of exploited kids and have up to date training and information.

No, it wasn't. Why not read the hundreds of pages of reports as I have done instead of believing a racist media. Child sexual exploitation has been ignored for decades, it took cases of organised Pakistani men doing it for the media and police forces to start giving a shit, previously and still in many parts of the UK today white British males have a pass to get away with it. Rape culture and stigmatising young teenage girls are the reason the men got away with it, added to which it's a very complex crime to unravel and understand and most people just don't give a fuck.

She's right though. Human trafficking happens all the goddamn time, even in a small place like NS it seems once a year they bust someone for sex trafficking. I can't imagine the shit that goes on in a large city like London.

And in a post-9/11 world, it seems like the crimes committed by those scary brown people get covered 10x as much. White person gets busted for it? Media doesn't cover it because it's a depressing story. Pakistani group gets busted? OH GOD BROWN PEOPLE DID THIS HORRIBLE THING.
