Baby It's flys fault I have to make another book thread

*dusts off shoulder*

It's probably because I connected my gmail account and added all my reading buddies who were already on GoodReads.

I don't have any reading buddies other than those on UF. Where do you find these reading buddies? I fear I may have better luck finding a hobbit. Anytime I mention reading to folks I know, they look at me with disgust.

I'm pretty sure I've actually lost friends by telling them I took the tv out of the house and started reading more. Some have even claimed it's cruel to not let my kids watch tv. What have people become?

Ew, what is wrong with people?

Not sure, but I seem to surround myself with nerds. Even our local bar had a book club for a while so some of those people are on my GoodReads list.

Plus, I've been on GoodReads for 9 years so that helps.

What's your name?

What books should I read to make me more smarter? Normally I only read for entertainment.

What subjects are you interested in? Maybe one of us can get you in the right direction.

I don't even really know. I've always been a musician, never put much thought to anything else. I'm into minimalism and philosophy, but I don't find those educational.

Lately I've had slight interest in writing and web development, but I think I just like the idea of those more than the practice.

I'm just read to set my guitar down for a while.

How much music theory do you know? I've never read anything about it, but it's always been something that fascinates me.

I understand most theory. I can read a hymnal and understand it, but I can't sight read very well (read and play at the same time) it's something that takes a lot practice and I never had a need for it.

I'd say learning music theory was very similar to learning Spanish for me, except I didn't stick with Spanish long enough to get anything out of it.

Do audio books count? It would be awesome to listen to a book and clean at the same time.

After much research I have come to the conclusion that audiobooks are a completely valid way to enjoy books. They both have pros and cons. Basically, audiobooks are cool, but they shouldn't replace actual reading.

I haven't decided yet if I will include audiobooks in my 100 book challenge, but I will definitely actually read at least 50 like I originally intended.

Thank you for your time. It's okay that I talk to myself on a public form. I don't care what Darth says.
