Dude hadn't even been at the team headquarters in weeks saying he was still grieving over his dead grandmother (who died in her 90s) and was at home taking his dog for walks when the rest of the coaching staff and scouts were checking out prospects at the combine. It sounds to me like he hadn't been making any real decisions for awhile.

From what I read if another team signs him the Browns are only responsible for the difference. Not sure about the cap implications though.

I was diagnosed T1D when I was 16 and my life took a complete 180. I went from just being a high schooler, playing basketball, guitar, everyday teenage shit - completely care free - to checking my blood sugars 5x a day and taking 5+ insulin shots a day with regimented meals. I didn't handle it well.

Why do I tell you this?

Jay Cutler became a T1D when he was 24.

Some people don't handle it well. I didn't. Maybe he didn't.

Nobody EVER talks about this, so I make it a point to bring it up. Just food for thought.

edit: And when you feel like saying it's complete bullshit, just imagine doing EVERYTHING I mentioned above yet you still struggle to get your sugars at a normal level knowing that you will lose your feet and your eyes sooner than everybody else you know tenfold.

Only difference is he has a team of doctors, nutritionists, etc. at his disposal which you didn't. He should have had no issues getting his sugars in control with the resources he had.

I was trying to convey the emotional aspect of it.

Basically, you have a freedom and then it is suddenly ripped away from you.

Hey, if I'm wrong, I'll gladly admit it.

But, it's some life changing shit to go from not taking a second thought about what you put in your mouth - or when - to BAM!! you need to prick your finger and test your blood and eat the exact same time every day or they'll chop your feet off.
