Baby How To Rase Kids Part I

You two should have more kids where as a large number of people need to be neutered.

The older generations had a solution for this. It's called spanking and they raised better kids than most of today's parents.
No they just brainwashed us to think they're better. They were no better.

The "New New Math".
What a bunch of bullshit.
"Show the number bond which connects this math sentence.
Change it to a 10 bond and show how you performed your work".
Old new math would have said "solve this equation, then write an equation substituting 10 for 9.
Show your work".
Fucking bullshit.

I disagree. It's a great way to learn to do math quickly in your head. This is stuff I learned in college (by my braniac dad) and it was super easy to show my child. We do it with multiplication tables too (easy way to do x-9? (x-10)-x= answer).

We had no problem with it at all. They also had it in our school that you just had to learn the ways and pick which worked best and forget which methods didn't work.

So while I am not a fan of some things with common core, teaching math theory is good IMO.

I'm sure it's a great tool.
I learned math between 1970 and 1984.
Learning a new system of learning is hard.
I don't think in the manner which this curriculum wants me to.

I learned math starting 1982 in K and did some of this, but not enough IMO. I wish we had honestly. I can easily say to my son "doubles" or combine to 10 or something and he can figure it out much faster.

To me this is more of how one things with algebra in a way and that's not a bad thing. I know a LOT of parents hate it though and I'm an odd duck who thinks it's great to do.

Oddly enough though, trees do have genders.

"monoecious (male and female flowers exist on the same individual), or dioecious (individuals contain only male or female flowers, but not both)"
