Ontopic Illegal Immigration, How Do We Deal With It?

I have nothing against immigrants and I'm all for guest worker programs and for people coming here legally. My major problem in this case and the San Fran murder is the breakdown in law enforcement and the Gov't agency. In the case I posted immigration was contacted and refused to do their job and three weeks later a woman is dead and two others sscarred for life. In San Fran Immigration said hold this guy we're coming to get him and the Sheriff's department said no, we're letting him go and a few weeks later the woman was murdered. Both agencies in these cases should be held accountable in for their inaction. Sad.

It's not just them it's the whole government to blame. Obama has an uncle in the US who had a deportation order on him for years an years and years. He got arrested for drunk driving and guess what happened to him? instead of being kicked out like he should have been a judge gave him a green card and said "welcome to america"
Right. I forgot. This is all Obama's fault. Tell me...what was Reagan's policy on illegal immigration? Tell me how this is a new thing. Then enlighten me on how significant of a problem this is overall. Like what percentage of the total population of drunk drivers in the US are illegal immigrants?

I think it is a new thing to just allow anyone to enter the country that is under 18. It doesn't matter they have ms13 gang tats just let them come right in. There are countless drudge articles about ice members being told not to stop kids

I'm just wondering what reason immigration had for deciding not to come pick him up. Were they thinking "meh, it's Saturday, why bother?" or were they thinking "if we go pick up this guy we are going to be even more overwhelmed and humanitarians are already complaining about the poor conditions in our holding cells and it takes months to process even one person out of this place and then we have to find the funding for a bus ticket or plane ticket to get them out of the country and we just don't have it and this guy just has a minor traffic violation so he doesn't really seem like a big risk." If the latter, obviously they were wrong, hut how could they know?

"The agency said many of the illegals were released because of a previous court order that prohibited authorities from holding them indefinitely if their home countries would not take them back."

right here is the reason no one came to pick him up. So basically we get other countries trash and are stuck with their criminals because they refuse to take them back

I don't think that all these people are criminals, and no, we can't hold them indefinitely. How much would that cost? And we can ship them home, and make it their country's problem of what to do with them at customs. But how much does that cost?

Yeah it's the lack of gun control laws that caused this. I mean Chicago a city that banned hand guns is just fine, just look at all the gun related murders it stopped.
Exactly. We have a completely different culture than Canada and England. There would be riots and a huge uptick of crime if there were stricter gun laws.

Removing guns from our society would not make it safer, it would make it more dangerous for law abiding citizens.

Since @Maureen seems to want a racists opinion on this...

1) The problem isn't with gun control. It is illegal for a retail gun shop to sell a gun to an illegal alien, which would have been realized during the background check and resulted in a denied application. He didn't go through the proper channels getting into the country, what makes you think he would go through the proper channels to obtain a gun? This isn't a case of gun control, this is a case of a shit head.

2) Obama is doing things VERY differently than Reagan. Reagan said ok we're going to end this immigration issue by granting the illegals already here a free pass, but we're closing the borders. Obama is giving them a free pass, but keeping the borders open and actually making it very difficult for Border Patrol to do their job. Arizona, for example has told the feds they want to deal with immigration themselves. They even want to put their own people on border patrol and deport every single illegal crossing the border. They would even pay for all of it in their own state, and the feds said no.

3) I have no issues with people coming into the US legally. get your papers and shit together and come over. Also, if you come here illegally and shit out a kid, that kid should NOT be a US citizen. Hell, it shouldn't happen with people who are here legally on a visa either, which the Chinese are known to do.

And yes Maureen, Mexico is a shithole. There are beautiful places there, don't get me wrong, but the corruption in government and the shit that spills over into the southern US states because of it is disgusting. Get your drug problem in order and we'll talk. Wealthy people needing bodyguards in Mexico City to prevent their kids from being kidnapped for ransom? You know where else you have to do that? South Africa. You know where you don't? The United States. Did you know Mexico is such a shit hole that they don't even care if the people coming in from the US side of the border have a passport? They don't even check. you can just walk on through. They don't care who comes in to their country.

Stop it. It's always the current admins problem because they are the ones that can change it. Any past president may have fucked up, it's not an excuse for the current one to continue on with that legacy. That's why we elect new people... to fix old problems...

There are people with family here that have been waiting since 1991 for their Visa application to be approved. Coming to this country legally if you don't 'know' someone can be difficult. Maybe all these illegals are just taking a page out of our history book. Just go there and kill the natives and take their places! Reagan clearly did not do a great job of closing the borders...immigration has been on the rise during and since his time in office and I don't think either of the Bush's in between did much about it. Arizona is a really fucked up place with a seriously corrupt and fucked up government in place and I'm really glad we aren't going with their ideas.

I would say that it can be difficult for a current President to change existing policy depending on the political climate, but overall I could agree with that.

Don't project your racist ways on me #DEFLEKTORZ

And going by your 500 word essay on it. This was all planned out and ready to go in your vault of hate living in your heart.

It's a wonder that it hasn't occurred to you that there are people who actually support the current immigration policies and believe that we should be a charitable and open border nation.

Prioritized based on what? Something smells fishy about this and it's not fluffy's vagina.
In February 2015, the U.S. government was processing some family-related visas applications filed as far back as August 1991, and was still processing some employment-related visa applications from December 2003.
In some cases, an application filed 20 years ago by a U.S. citizen to sponsor an unmarried adult child from Mexico is just now being processed in February 2015. Similarly, an application filed 23 years ago by a U.S. citizen sponsoring a sibling from the Philippines is only now being processed by USCIS. -migrationpolicy.org
