the thing is, if what you are doing only goes 10MPH, that it can go in a 100mph machine doesn't really matter.

Right?

Sure, you've got speed and power, but if you're not hardcore processing, it's like buying a busfull of seats when it's just you and your wife traveling around.

It'll still be relevant for a lot longer. You haven't given details on your purchasing habits, but I buy laptops about once every 5-6 years.

Lead free solder, tin whiskers, heat cycles in an unknown environment, the fact that it's a returned item to begin with...
Lead free's figured out. For pretty much anything made after 2005, you're in the clear.

I'm typing this on a Lenovo X61s recently bought for $100, off someone that got it in a government auction. Core 2 Duo, 2 gigs of RAM, 160 gig HD I replaced with a SSD... it's plenty fast for everything I need it to do. I could blow upwards of $1K on a decent laptop, but I'd rather throw the $900 difference at something else. I've got a finite income, and I've got things in my life that take higher priority than trying to keep up with the latest in electronics.

It's bulk trash pickup the next two weeks here. You put out whatever they don't normally take and haul it away.

The neighbors put out a barely used Weber 22.5 Kettle grill. Only things wrong are a broken handle and the ash pan needs a coat hanger fix.

Damn right I grabbed it.

Might go for a drive around town tomorrow morning for more goodies.

The Maine dump run: bring home more trash than you took.

Hey Valve do you charge much for your circumcisions?

No I just keep the tips.

Came to find the Masters post and tell you, but this will do.

Do NOT take any electronics with you to the gate because you will be turned away. Can't remember if you've been before but shit is no joke. You will have to hike a mile back to your car and dump it. They have massive arrays of old school land line phone stalls for anyone who needs to make a call. It's that serious. Fair warning.

If you've got a spare moment give me a ring for a drink or something. Sounds like you're booked though.

Since 99% of the tickets you can buy are lifetime tickets owned by someone else I've hearsd horror stories of being somehow being caught with a ringing phone and being ejected and that specific lifetime ticket is lost and them having to pay 100k to 200k to replace them.

I completely understand this. I bought an expensive laptop because I use a computer for numerous different things. I also knew I wouldn't have a home office setup for awhile because of the move and thus why I chose to buy a laptop instead of a desktop. I use every bit of power my laptop has.

If you don't used a laptop for anything other than browser based stuff and some office stuff. Then you shouldn't really ever need to spend more than around $400.

There is no way in the gate with anything like that now. Metal detectors walk through, wand detectors, body frisk, etc.
Save yourself the literal mile walk back to your car. Your party will be pissed because they will have to wait inside somewhere and meet you while you hike. They'll be missing the sites in the meantime.
