It's a trivial skill. The real art is in choosing each record and knowing how and when to mix. Simple beatmatching is easy. Every kid with two decks picks it up.

Yeah, I couldn't do it. I couldn't pick out which beat was where, so I had no idea which to speed up or slow down. If I would have stuck with it, it would have probably worked itself out. But instead I just got frustrated.

But actually I do not believe it was Synth and Strings. It was a record with a mainly grey sleeve, black label on it with the DJ name. Yomanda records were orange/yellow rainbow sleeves. It was from that era/set though.

Sounds like Incentive Records sleeve so possibly Hi-Gate?
