yes he was a great vocalist and his lyrics were pretty good too, especially in the first 2 albums,Just played the album. Thought I posted that. Anywho, Weiland is one of my top vocalists and the De Leo bros are fucking genius songwriters. Weiland is up there with Jim Morrison and Lou Gtramm from Foreignor., imo. Crazy perfect rock voices.
My fave is #4. The outside influences you mention are heavily prevalent there. That album was a whole new STP. Songs were deeper and Weiland transcended his talent level. Brilliant.yes he was a great vocalist and his lyrics were pretty good too, especially in the first 2 albums,
