That sucks. What bass is it? I had good results slapping a pre-slot nut on my Jazz. It's not nearly as good as getting a pro to shape one but it's better than getting a shit job done.

gluing a new one is manageable baba
use a tuner , get the intonation right with bridge length and then set string height staying with the fretboard radius, is pretty much what i do for the basses

It's an SX 6 string J with a .136 B so not gonna find a premade.

You can use a round wound to make the walls bigger on the slot. Or buy a set of files. Just don't nic the bottom of the slot and adjust the hight by sanding the part that fits in the neck.
