So why do people live in Florida again?

Is there really any place to live that is free of natural disasters?

We don't really have any natural disasters on a regular basis. They keep telling us we are going to have a major earthquake one day, but it hasn't happened yet, heck, the state barely gets minor ones. Although when Yellowstone erupts, we'll be disintegrated, but at least we won't feel anything. :D

Snow/ice storms. And iirc, NYC lies on some deep fault line where everyone will die when it snaps.
That's NYC and other areas far south, I'd be overjoyed if it were no longer attached to the rest of the state.

Snow storms are minimal, 3ft at a whack isn't a big deal - you stay home for a couple of days, and where I am we're sheltered from the big ones.

Ice storms, again not a big deal, so you lose power *shrug*

I live here for the cuisine. We have an Applebees, a Chilis, an Outback, and a Wendys all within 5 miles of our house.

No Maccaroni Grill? How does one survive?

And one car. My mom has these scumbag neighbors that have done it mutiple times and live in a $300,000 house.

They may have a nice house, but their credit is toast. 7 years is a loooong time without that safety net.
