I just finished 'A Stitch in Time' the ST:DS9 book about the backstory to Garak - Good read
Capital - John Lanchester was a good literary esque novel where not much happens - good though I guess
Buncha feminist shit
This evening just reading the Oct edition of 2600 Hack

I still need to read Jonathan Franzen's Freedom

As for sci fi and shit Drool I kinda liked the Uglies series once I got into it - also Brent Weeks Night Angel Trilogy is awesome

Based on this info you would probably also enjoy Hammer of the Gods and No One Here Gets Out Alive. Both great books.

Allegedly a complete fabrication, story wise. Never read it myself.

and No One Here Gets Out Alive. Both great books.

Great book written by someone actually involved with the band.
The same author wrote another one called "Wonderland Avenue" about his life after the death of Morrison.

On the latter, I don't believe that Jim Morrison was really the Jim Morrison that he was projected to be. Just like a lot of "singers" in the music industry today that are manufactured, I believe he was one of them, but obviously in a different era.

I'm currently reading (off and on), "Inside The LC: The Strange but Mostly True Story of Laurel Canyon and the Birth of the Hippie Generation", and it's incredibly insightful & informative. SO MUCH, so far really explains why the '60s & 70's were the way they were in rock, in certain areas.

A lot of the bands & artists that hailed from the Laurel Canyon era/area are manufactured & basically extremely well connected.

It was written by someone who was extremely infatuated with Morrison, (in a form of idolatry, no homo). It tend to stay away from books by authors that wished they could BE the person they were writing about.

No One here gets out alive?
Nah, I would say that
The guy actually worked for the band and had first had knowledge of how things were
