Even CNN, whose bias is essentially toward any kind of sensationalism, is holding off on publishing the report itself.

The way people are running with this is pissing me off.

There's going to be a minimum of 4 years of this. Up next, commentators with "well, you know, just because it's not proven doesn't mean it's not true."

Catching up on all this Trump stuff from yesterday while I was working. I think Buzzfeed and then CNN by running with it last night before anything could be confirmed or substantiated just gave Trump a huge gift today. Today is Trump's first news conference with the press core. Instead of being asked tough policy questions finally (you know, important stuff) he's going to be asked tons of questions about hookers peeing on beds and what he was told about dirt Russia has on him in a classified intelligence briefing that he won't be able to talk about because it's classified. Thanks Buzzfeed, you couldn't have waited and published your possible fake news tomorrow?

Yup. They ducked up. This was stupid and people are running with it like morons. We have confirmation hearings to pay attention to, way more important than this shit.

If any of it ends up being verified then we can hold him accountable then but for meow it's right up there with pizzagate

Climate change is absolutely 100% real. It has been scientifically proven to happen on this planet every few million years.
And if you think our current level of warming isn't being directly caused by fossil fuel emissions then you are ignoring all of the science that says so. You can't pick and choose what science you trust.

combination bro. its gonna happen. its gonna happen faster with 7 billion ppl. it's not gonna be the end of civilization and everyone isn't going to die tomorrow though.
It absolutely is going to be the end of civilization if it destabilizes the climate to a degree that we can't adapt. It only takes a few more degrees to get to that point.

Fucking NO ONE is claiming everyone is going to die tomorrow or in a couple years but it's undeniable that people will certainly die from climate change related famine, displacement, and natural disasters in the coming decades and it's undeniable that if we ignore climate change it will put the next couple generations on a horrible path that they won't be able to correct.

Then when all the private $$ pours into the studies they'll show the same thing the gov't funded info concluded.
What?

Private money pouring into studies are why there is resistance. The fossil fuels industry is paying unscrupulous people to claim it's not happening.

It's exactly the same thing they did when trying to hide the problems of leaded gas. They publicly lied and deceived people by hiring scientists who would say whatever they were paid to.

That's why there are a thousand scientists supporting the climate change conclusions for every single oil industry shill denying it.

Look on the bright side. The planet will be better off once we're gone. It's unfortunate that so many creatures have to die out in the process, but I guess you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs. So cheer up. When we die out the world will again see peace & harmony.

FUCK that. First of all it would take a very long time for nature to recover from the extinction event the we're causing.

Second, intelligent and sapient life is my priority, not dumb creatures that can't contemplate the nature of the universe. If we die out there's no one left to figure out dark matter, no one left to explore the oceans of Europa, no one left to study quasars and neutron stars.

Humanity is what needs to survive and we need a stable environment to do so.

why just because he has a different opinion than you? there are intelligent people on both sides of climate change
No. On climate change, there are people who trust science, and then there are people who think that scoring even minor points to cast doubt means that the whole thing can be ignored.

What makes you so special? Life will go on just fine without people pondering dark matter.
