we beat the defending champs at home and some of the rankings put NO above us. I think strength of schedule makes us arguably ranked higher than the steelers despite losing to them in OT in their house

How so? Head to head, they beat you.

If Boise St played Alabama and beat them would they not be better than Alabama because the rest of their schedule was a joke?

You're really going to have to explain this as I don't know how head to head doesn't prove it more than a team's schedule.

say the steelers go 8-8 the rest of the season and don't make the playoffs but we go 12-4 and make it to the nfc championship game. are the steelers still better than us? clearly not
