'Vampire flicks' is an inaccurate descriptor for those stories. They are more about the conflict and mutual respect that good and evil have for one another. An angels and demons sort of thing. Vampires are only a small part of that tale.

i guess it wasn't actually all that scary but it was pretty good IMO. you could compare it to "Audition" in that it starts off all peaceful as a way to build up the suspense for the "oh shit" climax.
