My quick Google says that isn't true. Those things are such a disaster.
I read they have no crumple zones.
You could just look up the IIHS crash test results...My quick Google says that isn't true.
What am I missing? You could just look up the IIHS crash test results...

It hasn't been tested, so no one actually knows what it does in a crash except be expensive as fuck to replace torqued and cracked gigacastingsWhat am I missing?
Repariability aside, gigacastings are cool as shit. You can come up with real optimized shapes with whatever thickness wherever you want, that are very rigid and very light and have an optimized "this amount of deformation = this force" crash characteric for decelerating a car all perfect in a crash. It hasn't been tested, so no one actually knows what it does in a crash except be expensive as fuck to replace torqued and cracked gigacastings

But for a truck doin' truck things, hauling shit and plowing snow and generally getting beaten to fuck, hard to beat a ladder frame. A unibody frame is a suboptimal truss if you think about it.
That wasn't the question. It has crumple zones, but apparently they are smaller than other vehicles. It hasn't been tested, so no one actually knows what it does in a crash except be expensive as fuck to replace torqued and cracked gigacastings
Most crumple zones are smaller than vehiclesThat wasn't the question. It has crumple zones, but apparently they are smaller than other vehicles.

I know you have to inject your Elon hate wherever you can, but the conversation that you dropped into is still on this page. It was 100% about crumple zones and if the Cybertruck had them.
