has anyone ever sponsored a troop?

i have a few boys that were over seas, magazines, candy, and oddly enough ramen noodles were some of the main things besides porn and such.

I normally send shit over and the best possible way is go pick up a "anywhere" package from the post office. I dont know if thats what they call it there but its a box that is $8.50 and it doesnt matter its weight or how much you cram into it or where its going. I usually pay my mom to pick up stuff while shes out shopping like toothpaste and normal grooming shit + candy and then I include DVD's that I download. Most(some) places usually have a town near by that have a "theater" that the troops can bring movies to and watch.

oh yeah...

Thorn and Spange, you guys dont know how much this really means to them. Some join because they dont have family and if it is lucky enough to reach one of them it is even more special. Just for it to reach anyone will really brighten up a horrid atmosphere.

edit: I can ask my buddy if he knows anyone that doesnt have family over there in his platoon that is staying in Iraq for Christmas if you want?

I'd also like to point out that if anyone wants to send stuff to Iraq or Afghanistan but doesn't know where, stop by a local recruiting office. They'll get you information for a unit that's probably full of guys recruited from your home area so you'll be sending stuff to your neighbors. :)

My old roommate is in the navy, he got a fleshlight and all his friends were jealous on their 6 months out at sea.

I'm sure any soldier would appreciate something like that.
