We're having a big dinner here tomorrow, 12 peeps over. Doing a ham, a grilled beef tenderloin, glazed carrots, roasted red potatoes, cauliflower gratin, cupcakes, and whatever everyone else brings

Christmas Eve things close at 6 PM. EVERYthing.

then on Christmas day things are open for a portion of the day. But other than that, it's business as usual.
I remember when I lived in WI, and everything closed on every effing holiday, except Halloween. It was beyond annoying.
