famous quotes

The absence of evidence is no evidence of absence.

As we know, there are known knowns. There are things we know we know.
We also know there are known unknowns. That is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don't know we don't know.

I believe what I said yesterday. I don't know what I said, but I know what I think, and, well, I assume it's what I said.

If I know the answer I'll tell you the answer, and if I don't, I'll just respond, cleverly.

Don't divide the world into "them" and "us." Avoid infatuation with or resentment of the press, the Congress, rivals, or opponents. Accept them as facts. They have their jobs and you have yours.

-Donald Rumsfeld

Few weeks ago me and two of my buddies were crashing in a cabin and one of them was extremely drunk. It was late so we were trying to fall asleep. Me and another guy were on two couches, between us was our drunk ass buddy that wouldnt shut up with his drunk ass rumblings while we were trying to fall asleep... he had some golden ones though.

something along the lines of...
"I want to be skinny, but I don't know how it works"

Kind of long but I rather like it. Ecclesiastes 1:1-11

1 The words of the Teacher, [a] son of David, king in Jerusalem:

2 "Meaningless! Meaningless!"
says the Teacher.
"Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless."

3 What does man gain from all his labor
at which he toils under the sun?

4 Generations come and generations go,
but the earth remains forever.

5 The sun rises and the sun sets,
and hurries back to where it rises.

6 The wind blows to the south
and turns to the north;
round and round it goes,
ever returning on its course.

7 All streams flow into the sea,
yet the sea is never full.
To the place the streams come from,
there they return again.

8 All things are wearisome,
more than one can say.
The eye never has enough of seeing,
nor the ear its fill of hearing.

9 What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.

10 Is there anything of which one can say,
"Look! This is something new"?
It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time.

11 There is no remembrance of men of old,
and even those who are yet to come
will not be remembered
by those who follow.

"Empire had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All Jedi had was a bunch of Muppets."

Dante was such a whiny waste of skin. A clever, whiny waste of skin, but a whiny waste of skin nonetheless.

"All things being equal...fat people use more soap"

Mark Twain

This made me belly laugh like a South American dictator for some reason.

Though my soul may set in darkness, it shall rise in perfect light. I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night~ Galileo

The Church believes the Earth is flat. I believe the Earth is round, for I have seen the shadow on the moon. And I have much more faith in a shadow than the Church~Magellan

Give me firm ground to stand upon, and I shall move the Earth~Archimedes

Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence~ H.L. Mencken
