They drove it away. They wont take a chance on anything. If its not a guaranteed hit, they wont spend the money. Which is why you end up with Old School 2 and the Dukes of Hazzard.
You could say that about any part of the entertainment industry. No matter if it is the music, movie, or television part.

ive hated his acting forever - his only appropriate role was in raising arizona...like keanu in bill and ted

He was perfect in Rasing Arizona. That's such a funny movie.

He's butchering Ghost Rider soon.

Have you ever seen the movie Imposter with Gary Sinise - amazing movie but I dont even remember seeing it in the box office. When Identity came out from what I remember it also did horrible but IMO it was one of the best "who done it" movies I have seen. X-Men 3 was horrible and...

Domestic Total as of Jul. 9, 2006: $231,288,000 (Estimate)

Go figure eh?
I  Gary Sinise. He's one of my favorite actors.

Sheesh! I must have crawled into a hole or pulled a Rip VanWinkle.
How did I miss a Sinise movie? ...peanuts!

I agree with Drool, it’s all in marketing. They are so concerned with what sells that they throw out any quality content. Hollywood is no longer a spawn for artistic creativity, it has deteriorated into a sesspool of regurgitated themes. ...kind of like my post:D
