Just read Daemon by Daniel Suarez and I'm halfway through the second book, Freedom.

They are a great read, but can be tough. Tolkein gets a little wordy at times. Just wait for the 10 pages describing Frodo's first 2 second glimpse of Tom Bombadil.

And the singing.....why is there so much singing???

Not to completely geek this thread out, but there is an Android app that reads pdb, the format the Nook uses. So basically any Android smart phone or ereader that uses Android can be used to read B&N books, in theory and a bit of wizardry.
