Yes, I think I saw this on Slashdot actuallly :fly:

It would be an interesting experiment, to say take a fresh run of Laphraoig (Would be hard to get a hold of, since it can't legally be sold as scotch until it's been aged for three years).

"Age" it for 30 years, and see how it stacks up against a Laphroaig 30 aged in their sea-side warehouse.

I'm certain some of their key characteristics would be lacking, since a big part of that is environmental.

Not to mention that scotch doesn't naturally age in the bottle, unlike wine :fly:
