POW POW POW

Next time at range chamber a round, take out the magazine. Biggest pet peeve is magazine disconnects.

I also intend to purchase a Barrett 98B at some point. 250 grain .338s at 3,000 fps have got to be a goddamn party to shoot, especially 2,000 yards.

I wouldn't spend $5k, but I'd spend $3-4k. Maybe I'll get lucky, who knows. Ammo for those things is ridiculous too.

Some pretty good deals on cheap AKs

Apparently, a pretty good deal on a CETME .308 CALIBER SEMI-AUTO RIFLE as well.

CETME is a knockoff G3. Also they arent real CETMEs, they are spare parts kits that this company imports and puts crap receivers on. Scorpion Arms or something... The guy who runs it is a assssshole and they barely work.

How do you know that?

Because they are banned from import for one thing. They are parts kits assembled by Century Arms or Hesse. Both are slightly shady companies with no such thing as customer service. If you google them you'll see the loads of complaints and maybe one or two people who have guns that work.

Just poorly assembled and overpriced.

Real pre import ban G3s cost over 1500$.

The only company that makes a good clone on real HK machinery is JLD. Those run over $1000 new.

Also .308 ammo is expensive, always has been, and the recoil on G3-ish rifles is unique. Also you cant take them apart and rebuild them easily (they are tack welded together). Same thing goes for L1A1 clones. I think knyte had a FAiL once :p

Really the advantage in american made stuff is the availability of accessories and spare parts and modular design. Even M14-ish rifles are a pain compared to the simple beauty *lick* of AR-15s.
