I was OK with NPH riding a unicorn, and dolphin sex against a rainbow background, but that last pic was just too much.
Most viruses you get now are encapsulating a downloader in Beep.sys so that once you clean the virus, it runs on reboot and reinstalls it.

I format PCs just because I hallucinate and believe them to be taunting me. I walk down an isle at work and in a red rage turn to a computer and say "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME, BITCH?" then I tear it from its desk and immediately re-image it.
The list of HR complaints against me as a result is long and distinguished.

Actually it's an extremely effective type of advertising because PC is a generic term and Apple is a brand. The dont serve a market, they create one. It is easy to remember, easy to identify, and has a solid reputation for quality (if at the expense of performance). The ads also successfully capitalize on a specific feeling: how people view themselves vs defined by your job. PCs are nearly universal in all fields, Macs are not so common but still effective and they created a perception that they are rebellious.

I remember some Mac fiend 16-17 years ago or so telling me that someone phrased the whole Mac vs. PC thing to him as the Rebels vs. the Empire, so he HAD to go Mac.
The funny thing is Macs are more like the Empire since IBM made the "original" PC but it was open architecture and pretty much off the shelf components. Apple STILL has security screws and glue inside their hardware along with custom BIOS.
*NIX was the meaning of large scale corporate computing and universities which then evolved into open source. Now Apple uses a fairly pure BSD and off the shelf parts but still maintains iron control on their hardware and PCs are almost universally Windows which is the big business software.
Now you get things like my friend (who is a girl and only uses macs) who was having trouble connecting to her network and i said well, just open a terminal and type ifconfig and paste it to me. Got tl;dr MAKE IT WORK as a response.
