For those against gay marriage

Well... many (including my family) aren't the type to go wave signs etc., but they'd vote against it if it happened to come up.
Of course any incidents of gays doing that is going to be publicized like crazy by the nuts as validation of their point. But if they'd compare the statistics it's easy to see that those incidents are no where near the norm. But that takes intelligence not faith.

Ontopic: I believe that marriage is a right. If the government is going to get involved in it, they should get involved in the serial divorcers. My dad's been married 3 times. I think he needs to sit out and be a hippy and live in sin.

Exactly. So any law or benefit or privilege that reinforces that being homosexual is a positive thing should be dismissed. One of the largest segments of the population exercising suidicial tendancies is homosexuals. One of the most sexually deviant lifestyles with the largest growth in STD infections is also found with homosexuals. Giving the impression these people and these beliefs spread, encourging them should be discouraged.

I suppose it's different here in Boston, we have had an openly gay Congressman for years.
i'm against gay marriage because it's immoral and wrong for two men to lay togethor. says so in the bible. add to that some shit about health insurance making everyones rates go up cause a gays partner doesnt deserve to be put on his plan, and some other things along those lines... plus the savings on jointly filing for taxes...

My company does not recognize homosexual relationships, nor does the state of Ohio prevent my company from firing an employee mearly for being a homosexual.
ONTOPIC - Even if gay marriage was legalized (somehow) in Ohio, my employer still might be able to deny coverage because of other laws and loopholes.
oddly enough, i work for a german company in kansas. one of our technitions is a lesbian and that was a question she brought up when being hired, is if the insurance would cover her life partner. called HR and sure enough, they would. doesn't need to be an officially recognized union or anything (becuase... well, good luck getting an officially recognized union). basically just gotta live togethor.
on a side note, she's got to be one of the uggliest chicks i've ever seen, but she's a really cool person.
point is, if germany gets it, why doesnt the US?
