Well things have already started for St. Pat's Day here in downtown Savannah. The fountains have all been dyed green for several days now. On every corner beer trucks are parked unloading as fast as possible getting ready for the festivities. Bars have kegs lining every available wall. In most allies port-a-potties are being dropped off to help fight the number one crime in town during St. Pat's Weekend. The idiot shopping cart vendors are already pushing their mobile malls of over priced crap around yelling that theirs is the best.

In some of the squares drums and bagpipe troops are already practicing for the parade tomorrow. I can hear bagpipes from my open window right now. On some squares I've seen people already setting up sites along the parade route. We do love drinking holidays.

I'll add some bad phone cam pictures as the weekend goes on. (Blackberry pearl)

Everyone try to add a picture or two from your own celebrating if you get to do any.

Were planning to take a boat out on the river and have a few, nothing terribly special. I hope the weather is nice Saturday.

Holy fuck, sounds like Savannah gets DOWN for St. Paddy's day.

A bar in my neighbourhood is sponsoring a "block party" type thing so I'll probably go over to that. I like a good party, and I loooooove beer.

It's our largest party of the year. About 400,000 people on average come into town and get stinking drunk. That number increases every year.

A friend of mine owns a bar downtown and he was saying he should be able to pay his rent for the next 3 to 4 months just from this weekends worth of sales.

Downtown has no open container laws. As long as it's in a plastic cup it's cool.

Wonder if the party bus will drive us to Savannnnnnnah :D

haven't heard back from my buddies that were talking about hitting savannah so it's not very likely that I'll be going...the vette needs to go into the shop this weekend because my oil pressure gauge is maxed for some reason...it seems to be driving fine and it's full up on oil so it might just be that it's sending a bad signal to the gauge but there is no way I can risk a long roadtrip in this state

I'll just be hitting up the bars by my house and getting ripped with assorted buddies...I'll try to remember to bust out the crackberry for some pics

Savannah is probably one of the few places that all schools are off on St. Patrick's Day. Most business downtown are closed tomorrow. I hate when it falls on a weekend and I don't get off of work for it.

wow.. reminds me of the fact that hillsborough county schools get off a day for the state fair.. now THAT'S placing importance on education.

anywho.. we're gone all wknd to lake city (live oak actually) in north FL for our yearly Ides of March get together. thanksgiving and march we all drop what we're doing and meet up there. unc got 15 acres, 92 y.o. grandma up there.. good stuff.

no plans as of now for monday, but i should be a week smoke and drink free by monday and may be berzerk for a night out with smokes and drinks
