The "cool programs and applications" thread

SuperCopier
This free utility takes over the copying duties within Windows and builds upon the copying. For instance if you are copying files and one file is currently open (aka locked), a normal windows copy would halt saying the file is open or cannot copy. Supercopier can get around that and continue copying or prompt you.

Say a user shuts off their computer or restarts while you are copying. Supercopier can get around that by resuming the file copy when the computer becomes available again.

Cliffs: Supercopier is the shit.

PowerStrip, a cool little app that allows you increase/decrease your gamma settings with quick keys. Great for BF2/2142 that have no in-game gamma setting.

What kind of pointers? I've got a couple of Joomla sites running now. I don't know a ton about them, but enough to figure most of the stuff out.

Have you heard of a component or module (whatever they are called for Joomla) that will give a user ability to upload a photo for a cost through paypal and the photo will post on the main page.

I have found an uploader that may or may not work, and a supposedly neat paypal component, but unsure how to make it work the way I need it.

It is for the dog rescue, they want to do a fundraiser where people will upload their dog photos for ten bucks then vote on the winners for a buck.

Ah I see. Good idea. Yet I have no idea how to implement that. Try asking on the official Joomla forums, and/or look for a programmer who specializes in Joomla to get the module written if one does not exist. See if said programmer would do it pro-bono, especially if you use both of those components and just need them linked together.

Can you think of a better way to do that?
