Question for you Car people

It is 100% Japanese parts.
It just uses a Ford transmission.

Wait what? :fly:

so you are a return customer to Mazda? What makes you like them so much? How are the cost of repairs when they need to happen? Are repairs necessary often?

I don't mind spending a little more for a fix if they happen less frequently in general. I've read the reviews but it seems to depend on who is doing the reviewing which doesn't tell me much. I'd rather hear a consumer's point of view.

Sorry, 92% is Japanese :fly:

This is my first Mazda, but I would have no hesitation to get another one. Imagine a car like Toyota that gives up some bulletproofness and ride comfort for a bit more fun, that is a Honda. Then do that a bit more and you get Mazda.

My car is 6 years old and 129K miles on the clock. I have replaced the struts (well replaced with coilovers, but the stocks were fried from my aggessive driving and shit roads), water pump, timing belt twice (according to the manual), front brakes twice, tires twice, two tuneups (so new spark plugs), and regular oil changes. I will most likely be getting a new exhaust, I think the rattle I hear is the cat failing. Oh, and a new battery, too, but mainly to upgrade it for my stereo. And a new windshield because of major cracks from stones.

The car has averaged me $287 a month in maintainance and fuel since it was 1 year old. About half of the repairs were done at the dealer, too. That includes Mobil 1 oil changes and Techron fuel cleaner every so often.
