I've got a little box sitting on my desk that's running an embedded Linux OS (BusyBox I believe). I need to image the entire drive structure onto another machine. I can telnet into the embedded box and that seems to be about it right now. I can access the embedded box from either a Windows or Linux desktop, if that helps. So how the hell do I get the files off the embedded machine or is it just not even possible?

does it have a cd/dvd drive? usb port? you could use an altiris boot and image it

hmm...altiris does have a remote backup utility but the question is would you be able to get the altiris software on there and would it even work?
edit:if you have root you can get it on there but will it work

The embedded device in question is a Qvidium MPEG2 IPTV encoder/decoder model DR-2122 if that is of any assistance. I've found online documentation lacking.
Hmm, lemme see if I can get into the box over SSH. If the embedded system doesn't have it on there, there is no way for me to install it.
I have a really old USB port that hooks up directly to the mother board. I dont know if that helps but I figured I would say it.
