Today I fucked up by showing up 20 minutes before boarding a flight. I've done this in the past without issue but apparently the rules have changed. Have to be at the airport 42 minutes before boarding. No flights out of PWM for the rest of the day from any airline (winter schedule I guess?). Had to drive to Boston Logan to catch a flight to DCA then PHL. Expensive lesson learned.

Got 2 hours sort of sleep. Flew to Orlando. Slept for 4 hours. Feel better now. Going to a vendor 90s concert: better than Ezra, Tonic, and Sugar Ray.

Recently I went to a tradeshow with a backpack as my only bag and it was fantastic, steamed my clothes at the hotel after I unfolded them and they were fine. It was really freeing to not have to watch a bag everywhere.

If I get to the airport late and need to check a bag, I just take it to the gate with me and then the flight crew tells me it is too big or I have too many carry ons or whatever and offers to gate check it for me. Problem solved.

Yes I had a checked bag. The self-check in kiosk didn't even let me get to the screen to add a checked bag. When I went to the ticketing counter, the agent said it didn't matter if I checked a bag or not, that I was late and couldn't board.
