Um we could barely see the road and at times you couldn’t see through the water on your windshield. How is slowing down to a safe speed or pulling over till is passes a foolish thing? The idiot would have been the person trying to go full speed and probably ending up killing someone.
If you didn't feel safe then you're sensible to pull over. Being a driver in the UK I'm used to bombing down the motorways with torrential rain around so it doesn't bother me but it's sure scary for those who aren't used to it.

Does anyone know of a google voice-esque service that would work in the UK to allow me to call from a fake number? I have a client who has had to block private numbers because of an abusive ex and I can't call off my personal phone number so we can't have sessions right now. Google voice isn't available in the UK as I've just learned.

All you need to make device-based VoIP calls is a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer and a broadband – or 3G/4G/5G – connection. Each device has an IP – or Internet Protocol – address that allows it to communicate with other devices over the internet. Then just sign up to one of the many VoIP apps or services available in the UK. These include:

If you want to make VoIP calls using a normal phone, you’ll have to look at VoIP home phone providers, such as:

  • Vonage
  • BT Digital Voice
  • AXvoice
  • Ooma

Yeah those would all be tied to personal information about me e.g. my phone number, full name, email address etc. The point is I'm not permitted to share any of that data with my client so I need an app that calls from a real looking phone number but not one that is actually identified to me. Like a Catfish kinda thing. @fly and @APRIL know what I'm on about. Also there's no presumption any client of mine would have internet access if it was a wifi situation.

NO! People on Zoom can't get any of that stuff unless you click the boxes to allow them. You can also install an app on your phone if it doesn't allow you to change the caller id "message". E.g. - people see my corporate name when I call them. Confuses some because that's not my name, number or website moniker.

You're making this too hard on yourself.
