oh great, now an argument about circumcised vs. uncut hummus.Do you remove the chickpea skins?
Nobody does that. That's the only fiber in them. Not like they're soybeans.Do you remove the chickpea skins?
In Italian the uncut ones are "Garbanzos".oh great, now an argument about circumcised vs. uncut hummus.
Ok, I guess some people do. Weirdos!Do you remove the chickpea skins?
It makes it much smoother. Kind of a pain in the ass tho.Ok, I guess some people do. Weirdos!
The only difference between a chickpea and a garbanzo bean is that I've never had a garbanzo bean on my face before.Nobody does that. That's the only fiber in them. Not like they're soybeans.

meh, extra minute in the food processor. Hummas from the store is sometimes a little grainy imo - I leave the skins on but make it very smooth. Sometimes I buy the split chickpeas which have generally lost their skin in the process. Those are better for making tempeh - the big space formed by the whole ones can thwart the proper growth of the tempeh mold.It makes it much smoother. Kind of a pain in the ass tho.
As an experiment, try removing the skins once. I think you'll find there is a difference.meh, extra minute in the food processor. nah. I could, but I don't need it baby-poop slick. And I want the fiber. It would be a silly waste of time - for me.As an experiment, try removing the skins once. I think you'll find there is a difference.
