I did this and could still taste the food. Sounds like an old wives' tale.

And texture of course.
Need smell to further identify.

Try it nose plugged and blindfolded. Then have a (hopefully trusted) person feed you something random.

Couple out of literally hundreds. This has been widely known for a long time.

They imply that you need your nasal passage to smell scents. I can smell things with my nose completely blocked. I guess I have a superpower.
