Advice The Home Improvement/Automation Thread

Just did the whole song and dance of showing up at a wholesaler, "we don't sell to the public", calling a random heating company they supply, paying them over the phone, them calling the wholesaler, and me walking out with the pump.

Didn't have an exact replacement, new one is a 3 speed, but that's a good thing.

Yay I have hot water again.

yeah, that why i have a fake company. Its not even registered anywhere, but noone actually checks.

At least in Murica you just use a rando name for when you sign up with these places. They never actually check if it's real or not.
Depends. New jerb is having us vet everyone who wants to be a distributor of our products. Every state has a Corporations department/board. Few minute Internet search - yes, it was my idea :) . We also ask them (online form) which state they are incorporated in since probably 70% of American corps are formed in Deleware for a variety of financial reasons.

Welp, ive been drinking ants.

A bunch of ant eggs got caught in the filters today, and theres a swarm of em around the well head :/

I put diatomaceous earth around the well to kill em off and will shock it tomorrow and give it a better seal with some silicon

How shallow is your well? Just puzzled thinking about how ants could get in the well or filter(s). Granted, most wells around here are in the 250-300' deep range.

Just not picturing it. Deep well pumps have a series of filters over the point/end where the water gets drawn in. Can't imagine drinking from a shallow water well. Chemicals and stuff.
Those aren't filters, they're screens, and they're meant to prevent the pump from getting completely clogged up vs providing any kind of water filtering.

I grew up on shallow well water. It's fine.
