Pretty much. That's literally how all gifts given on behalf of a group work. It implies nothing about appreciation or how much someone is liked, it says that the group gave it.
How often has your wife sent a birthday/christmas card or present that you had nothing to do with but it had your name on it?

Much of english is filled with dumb phrases. Saying they don't mean what they clearly mean doesn't change them into saying something else.

I never said I hated it.

It comes on whenever I turn on my bathroom light. See, in November ‘12, Mitt got cranky and pulled nearly every lefty radio station off the air after losing the election. There are only a handful of lefties remaining, and none are on terrestrial radio here.

I’ve learned plenty since then. It’s interesting to hear Limbaugh and Hannity spew, then watch to see how quickly Trump makes it policy.
