when I had the pup cremated (it was winter, ground was frozen) there were two options, get the ashes back if she was solo in the furnace (a lot more expensive), or part of a group that was divided up by partitions designed to keep the ashes separate. I asked what the deal was about the partitions. She said that small pets, like 3 hamsters and 3 cats are so small and can be done at the same time with partitions. She said you'll get a small amount of ashes from someone else's pet, but the vast majority of the ashes are your family's pet, and it's considerably less expensive than running an entire cycle for one small pet.
We did the partition deal.
