I guess I don't know the question? Is it whether the test of if something is vegan is if it's given consent? The answer to that is partly, but if it's not sentient then it isn't relevant. Yes, I will pull up a carrot and eat it. If they take some muscle cells from a buffalo and grow ten thousand steaks from them, I'd probably eat the steak. Did the buffalo consent to having some cells scraped? No, but I'm betting she'd say OK if she understood the ramifications.

Makes sense to me.

I kind of wonder how well lab grown meats would keep. As near perfect a cell as you could get in as near perfect and clean growth medium as you could get. If it was sealed correctly and chilled properly how soon would it break down?
