Ontopic The Shooting Thread

Her father said in the interview that prior to the shooting the family had reported his daughter missing in Southern California and informed police she might be going to YouTube because she "hated" the company. He said hours before his daughter caused an afternoon of terror in San Bruno, the family received a phone call from police saying she had been located asleep in her car and everything was "under control."

So once again the cops fuck up big time. These are the people who should only have guns though right?

and because she was a brown skinned woman. lets see if these dink students mention her on cnn

I haven't kept up with the story but if she has brown skin, but is not a Muslim, and didn't use an AR,15 I better check it out now before it disappears all together.

If Sandy Hook didn’t change anything, nothing will.

Other than a few more generations from now having more sense than us but given the current state of world affairs, that ain’t happening.
I do not expect the human species to avoid killing itself long enough to create a truly just society.

We tried your version of a just society several times. It resulted in tens of millions of deaths. Or you think we just didn't try hard enough?

Honestly, a person who's entire income is based off of you tube monetization of their channel and still lives at home in their late 30s should be a big 'probably mentally unbalanced' warning sign to about anyone.

That's actual security instead of security theatre. You know this.

So get this, there was a Secret Service guy on saying that 'access control' can be part of security but it's not total security by itself. Example used was a ticket to a pro-football game in a stadium.

I never actually thought about how many separate layers there needs to be.

Theres four main criteria. Authentication (who you are), authorization (what you're allowed to do), access control (where you're allowed to be) and Accounting (who is where).

Any good system has all 4. And at least two of them are two factor. Authentication should be a device, and something you know. Authorization is the device and who you are (fingerprint, iris, etc)
