Thread Winter Olympics - 2018

There was just a story on the local news where they were interviewing Shawn White. He was telling a story about a local guy who was a snow board instructor but was put out of business since they shut everything down. He also has a resturant that is border line shutting down so he did a Shawn White hamburger and priced it at $1000 USD as a marketing attempt. Of course Shawn caught wind of it and bought the burger.

Also this is a prime example of why some of the folks are over you. It’s a legitimate conversation and on a specific point about how the games is impacting the locals and the only thing you bring is the guy is pretentious because of his name spelling.

Should have 5%ed that. Yeah I grew up in New England I'm well aware of the fragile economies in northern New England (and other ski areas). There would be a revolt followed by cannibalism.

Ok let's get serious for a second. Any thread not labeled "on topic" is not sacrosanct. I read the rule, Im living by the rule, I've asked my friends to do the same.

Granted this should have been an on topic thread but it doesn't appear to be so.
