Got the dashboard lights working in the GTI again. Had a short to ground on the illumination circuit in the cigarette lighter socket, which blew the dimmer switch. Now to actually pick up another dimmer swit ch and replace the jumper wire that's in place of the blown one...

Got yet another letter in the mail from Honda, saying "bring your car in its airbags will kill you"... yeah, I'll call the dealer and see what they say. Still waiting on parts.

So I called Honda Canada earlier today, to ask about getting a free loaner car while waiting for airbag parts to come in... they said they'd call the dealer and arrange something for me.

Just got a call from the dealer. Nope, not getting a loaner. Honda's sending them the parts and the airbag recall's getting done next week.

Anyone ever read a thread where some Canadian offroader guy made adapters and slapped four or five transfer cases on his truck so he could get a truly outrageous gear ratio when it was in 4-low-low-low-low-low?

I wanna say the guy was in left-coast Canada?

Guess what I drove from Tampa to Tallahassee to do with my free time at my family's place?

:sigh:

You're a good man, Asa.

I hosted a z club tech session at my place today to help a guy with the shitty underdrive pulley on his Z32. He never showed, so I greased the window regulator on my 240Z, replaced the brake pads on my Z32 with ones that don't sound like a semi truck, and helped a lady with the crapola wheels she put on her 2016 Nismo Z (they need centering rings on the hubs, and the rears need spacers, but I did what I could).

At the very least, her Z isn't vibrating at 60 anymore, which I can solely attribute to appropriately torquing the wheels down, but the 370Z was never meant to be lug-centric, so she really needs those centering rings.

Sorry, this is for my truck.
Halfway through the drive I check my gauges and got worried. Pulled over and checked everything, stayed worried, got back on the road and stopped in Ocala at National Parts Depot and spent half my damned paycheck.

Added some Lucas oil honey and limped on up to Tally.

I really think I will need to rebuild my engine within a year at most.

Saw my niece for about 20 minutes and haven't been able to hold her cause I look like this.
