FYI Florida is Autistic

Should get on that. Some of the good ones get locked out fairly quickly, especially on a holiday weekend like this. Good Gods, I just realized you're going on a holiday week/weekend.
Epcot is better for adults, Magic Kingdom has NO BEER OR ALCOHOL AT ALL, Star Wars stuff is at Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom is the coolest weatherwise.
Heat isn't what I'm thinking of, it's heat + humidity + people + crowds + Fuck + I hate everyone + Why did I think this was a good idea + FUCK. There isn't too much relief from the heat and humidity at Disney, I know your family is genetically adapted for it, but it's still a pain in the ass when you're in it all day

Good tips.
I'm used to insane family days.
My wife will break before I do
I'm the strongest family Guy on earth.

My prediction is that the wife hustles everyone back to the hotel for siesta by 15:00.
Not gonna fight that.

A fastpass for the nightly fireworks is usually worth it. Gets you into a cleared out area and lets you sit down to watch.
I generally like getting into the parks early early in the morning, then heading back to the resort for an hour or two of poolside relaxing and cooling off before heading back to the park. Lets everyone relax and breath. Lets you not have to pay attention to the kids, etc etc.

@helenabear, get in here. Disney plan talking!

Whaaaa..... busy day!

I disagree about the FP for nightly things now that you can add a 4th FP but ONLY after you've used up all 3. I haven't found a FP worth it. Then again we don't find nightly things worth sweating over.

WE go first thing in the morning but don't do early entry as it's more crowded. Download the My Disney Experience App. The wait times are spot on mostly. Helped us get through it. We'll do afternoon at the room to do the pool stuff and maybe go back out at night.

We're super laid back at this point. Pick ADRs (dining) the morning of and FP+ the night before. We're okay with it though.

Mostly don't sweat it. This time is SUPER busy with the 4th and just enjoy what you have.

Oh and no matter what anyone tells you Frozen Ever After is NOT worth a 1-2 hour or more wait. Nor is 7 Dwarf's Mine Train.

The inevitable has finally arrived.
By this time tomorrow, I should be pulling into Orlando.
We got a 3 night fleabag and 2 day multi park Disney pass.
Things to bring:
DVDS for the kids during the ride.
Ear buds for daddy during the ride. Illegal? Yes. I'll take the chance.
Bathing suit.
Gator repellant.
Money
Money
Money.
I won't be the guy who wouldn't ante up for the Disney trip.

This will probably not be relaxing.

Hey honey, take a picture of me on the beach where the kid was dragged away!

Really helpful thanks!
Gabe's too short for the Rollercoasters. I booked a ton of fast pass stuff they will dig, including Pirates of the Caribbean.
A lot of it is indoor theater stuff, cause Florida heat (someone's listening @mr asa!).
The filipina will have me taking her peeekchur every 37 seconds.

You might have the photopass. I think they bundle it in every resort/ticket combo sale now. Should be able to get all those pics downloaded when you get home

I only know of it bundling with Gold AP and above. Still available for $169 for others. I swear it's a rip off unless you can share it with others.

Really just have fun and don't sweat it. I swear I see more miserable people there because the *HAVE* to do this or whatever. I saw a mom melt down because her kid didn't want to go eat in the castle for whatever 3 year old reason. Little ones are easier to deal with. Though if he likes Peter Pan, get a FP for it or go first thing. Only kiddie ride I know of that has a stupid long wait for no reason.

This. Although, be prepared to reset the password every other day. Shouldn't be an issue for you, honestly.

DIsney's got the dumbest IT people in existence.
Agreed on Disney IT. So many stupid issues.

Though last trip the app worked flawlessly. Seems the update they did just before we went helped.

Make sure you make your restaurant reservations or you will not get in

I hated the food at magic kingdom but LOOOOOVED the food at universal (are you going?)

How old are the kids btw? I might have missed this

Make sure you stick around for the parade at night (I wanna say it's called the electric parade but I'm not sure) it's soooo cute and we loved it

The fire works at the end I think at 8pm is pretty awesome too.

I'm not gonna lie, I cried while holding my kid and watching the fireworks. A very surreal moment

Ohhhhh and if you're gonna meet Mickey Mouse (the longest line up)
Do it late in the day or right after the fire works or just as its ending
It's a cool experience

Finally home. Twins are 6 @Maureen.
We did 2 days, day 1 in magic kingdom and day 2 in Disney Hollywood.
Everyone loved it. I practically grew up in the Anaheim Disneyland, so I was tour Guide for magic kingdom. Children of divorce tend to spend all their dad time in theme parks in Socal.
Can I just say how fucking awesome it is that Disney bought Star Wars?
They have stage shows with Sith, and goddamn stormtroopers marching to the Darth theme!
It is geek heaven.
Tricked my family onto the Tower of Terror, im a real stinker.
Star Tours the Adventure Continues was my favorite- virtual motion Star wars ride.

One last observation- Murica is in deep shit. Never saw so many crippled scooters being driven by "handicapped" obese adults in their 50s.
We are in deep doodoo.

Gotta say, I'm not in love with Florida. Maybe it was partially growing up in Socal, these tourist states no longer enamor me.
Theres something about the Florida Redneck which gives me the creepy crawlies and makes me want to immediately go to meth rehab.
I had flashbacks to every episode of Cops Dade County ever made lol.
We'll go back to Orlando tho. It can be done on the cheap like we did, as long as you avoid Disney. Tickets alone cost me $839 for two days of fast pass+ for 4 people.
Universal next time, maybe SeaWorld too.
