a few horses/sheep/cows requires 10 acres of cleared max. That means you can have 30 acres of wooded.
"general" horse math = 1 acre per horse. + barn, + outdoor arena, + room to move around on the property. I'm thinking 6-8 horses, + sheep/cows. & tbh, I'd like to find out about raising lamb profitably, or cows even. 'organic' is apparently what people will pay an arm and a leg for, so a little room to grow. I also wouldn't mind land for a land/hay lease.

Some years back they were selling plots of land like that somewhere in AZ/NM. Specifically for horse properties. The 'backs' of all of the property backed to a 1000 foot wide path that was to be a trail that led to some ginormous beautiful National/State Park that had a bagillion miles of more horse trails.

Some of the plots had more trees than others, but you could easily ride out of the back of the properties to the trail.

I can't find it anymore.

The problem is making money while living in those remote areas. As soon as we figure out how to make our living from home, we are there.
