you're...on the internet

if i remember right, casey was a whiney arrogant bastard and viewed hales "mission" as imperfect and ultimately a failure, thus not dignified of placement.

Whatever

Hale's mission was a failure do to a lack of training and over enthusiasm. Hale was the only to volunteer to spy on the British in NYC for the Continental Army. Because of his failure the Culper 6 was formed.

Plus we have to use fedex or something like that. Can't do liquids or booze via normal post. Of course people do it all the time no issues but if they catch you it's destroyed.

You can legally ship collectors bottles using US mail. Doesn't matter if they are full or empty. At least that's what I think @dbzeag told me.

From the SA Beer Trading thread

Legality: Isn't it illegal to ship beer?
It is illegal to ship alcohol through the US Postal Service without special licenses and forms and etc etc. Don't do it.

UPS and FedEx have a policy of not allowing alcohol to be shipped, but it is not against any laws or something you can get arrested for. As a shipping company it is a little bit of a pain in the ass to deal with glass bottles that break in shipping and leak, not to mention dealing with spurious "compensation values" that could be quite high for something that is quite fragile. They don't want to know about it because they don't want to have to deal with it, make it not a problem and it wont be.

People ship beer all the time, and its not hard to ship beer without it breaking and most often times if you drop off a box at FedEx/UPS they don't ask what the contents are and off it goes. See the "how to pack beer" section below.

I've shipped all sorts of ridiculous things UPS. Just write "ORM-D" and "consumer exempt" in a box on your package and they'll take it. I've shipped spray paint, flammable liquids, you name it.

Obviously as a business I have to declare everything but still... That's how you get it done, UPS will even tell you. FedEx will tell you to fuck off though.

"Intoxicating liquors having 0.5 percent or more alcoholic content are nonmailable. Taxable liquors with 3.2 percent or less alcohol, including those obtained under a prescription or as a collector’s item, also are nonmailable. The prohibition of the mailing of intoxicating liquors is contained in federal law (18 U.S.C. 1716)."
