I think Strings tries to (wisely) shield the family from places like this.
It's not like the kid would be exposed to us. LOL. Just, not a peep. @Strings, how old is this kid? We need some perspective. A big difference between 23 yr. old who's launching and 48 yr. basement dweller who has to be ejected.

"Thank God, I can finally turn my music up to 11! Shit, maybe not."

Any reason to not move to Casper, Wyoming? Seems like a nice place.
Weather seems pretty mild. High enough and dry enough might not even have mosquitos.
Lots of snow but it's the dry, powdery mountain type snow not the wet, sticky Minnesota type snow.

Somewhere around there or southern Missouri Ozarks and if not those fuck it, way up in the sticks of Northern MN Darthland. Can work road construction in the summer and sit in the fishhouse, drink, and collect unemployment in the winter.

Need to move closer to my folks within the next year. They're not getting any younger. Hard limit is no more than a days drive.

Couple that with the stuff I'd like and that slice of E/SE Wyoming or the northern Ozarks is pretty much it.

Everything inside that is pretty much endless bean/corn/wheat fields in which case overshoot them and up in the sticks it is.

Somehow convince them to move closer to you.

That was my first thought but then I remembered your growing discomfort with your area.

I have no real input and should probably just delete this.
