Ok, so this weekend was one of contemplation for me. Things like this :

crossed my mind a lot. Perhaps I don't really understand people all that well. So tell me, mighty forum, how do you define love and other such "human feelings"? Perhaps the happy forum couple could chime in here?

I don't know. You seem to know a lot, but generally you're just angry, angry Scott.
 
I think it's probably easier to get close to somebody on the internet than IRL. I think people are easier to like on the internet. I know I probably like more people on the internet than I actually like in real life. I dislike lots of people I used to be friends with, when you are actually physically around them they can tend to piss you off by their actions, whereas on the internet you can omit anything you like. Woohoo!

I thnk love requires compassion, trust and understanding. Without that the other person has to sleep with a tiger.

Is that love or infatuation?

Love is feeling happier within your own personal 2s1 orbit. If you no longer feel happy with someone and would be happier on your own, then you stop being with them.
 
I've come to believe love is being able to tolerate somebody forever. When I broke it off with my ex he said it was a mistake because he 'could have tolerated me for the rest of his life' and I laughed and said I wanted more than that. I'm not so sure there is more.
