I feel about beer the same way I feel about coffee. I enjoy the craft stuff but won't begrudge the more common stock. I don't ever want to be the guy that refrains from drinking either one simply because the choices are limited to miller or bud.

I'd rather have instant coffee than no coffee and I'd rather have macrobrew beer than no beer.

For the most part, I agree.
However, Bud Light and similar are just... bleh

They're bleh to me too. Some beer is legitimately disgusting but those are usually some funky pumpkin or other stupid flavor craft beer (or Sierra Nevada, it tastes like what ferret piss smells like). Miller and bud are just...there's not much there and that's ok.

Sometimes I want to drink with a bunch of people for hours on end without getting trashed or feel like I've had a meal. That's easier to do with the light stuff and I don't have to care about the flavor because the point isn't the beer it's the people you're having the beer with.
