In NWN you have no direct control over your charters(s). You just point them in a direction and tell them what you want them to do. More "Diablo"-ish with super detailed character stats.
I could never get into it because I felt it was more work than what I was interested in putting into it.
I think Gothic or Dark Messiah would be more your speed.
